This Saturday morning, I ventured down Fairbanks to the Black Sheep’s new location. Every third Saturday, Four Purls of Winter Haven brings a little slice of their shop via a truck to the 32789. The truck offered a friendly, fabulous selection of yarns I have been longing to see and touch in person. They carry they good stuff- Madeline Tosh, Malabrigo, Knit Collage, and much more. A visit to their brick and mortar store is definitely in my future, but a quick fix to the truck was just what I needed in this yarn-starved WP.
I left with a skein of Knit Collage Gypsy Garden and a Malabrigo that will both end up as hats, I’m betting… I celebrated with a Matcha Milk from Krungthep, naturally.
Car knitting with the amazing Fringe Supply Co. Field Bag as my sidekick. Working on another dish towel in cotton and another slouchy hat. I can only do a few rounds at a time before I start to feel car sick. Does this happen to anyone else?
The easiest, super simple pattern I’ve been exclusively for hats lately.
Journaling/Filofaxing in the moring on the porch
Obsessed with TONYMOLY brand now at Ulta!
Valhalla donut x another coaster
My first Birchbox arrived Friday, celebrated with a Strawberry Shortcake beer from Cigar City and a slouchy hat
Summer has officially announced itself in Winter Park. 90 degree weather makes it unpleasant to knit the wooly warm stuff anymore, so inside I go with a short, small projects and a nice cold beer. I joined the rest of civilized society and signed up for Birchbox. I received the free Rifle Paper Co. notebooks for April, yay! I also found Cigar City’s Strawberry Shortcake beer at Whole Foods to accompany its un-boxing.
My third trip to Valhalla Bakery was startling. I arrived 15 min. before it opened and there was a still line already assembled around the building. I made sure to get a dozen this time to get my fix in because I can’t handle an0ther 30 min. wait in line! The Pistachio-Rosewater flavor was heavenly though!
In love with the TONYMOLY Korean brand now at the WP Village Ulta. The face masks are amazing, the strawberry nose strips are absolutely delightful smelling and work better than Biore. Also obsessed the with little Panda eye brightening stick. The bunny sleek mist I use as a makeup setter.
Got my hands on this whimsical Madeline Tosh yarn in the sold out Holi Festival color. Not sure what I will do with it yet, but I’m thinking a hat.
Last weekend, I stupidly tried to go to Valhalla Bakery in Orlando at 1:45pm for these so-called legendary donuts. Apparently you have to get there on the early side to get them or they sell out. I’m willing to do crazy things for a good donut. So this Saturday, I literally threw my glasses and flip flops on and drove there on no coffee in my pajamas. I arrived around 8:45am to a line of about 4 people that quickly accumulated behind me. I got a half dozen of these monsters and they were well worth the mission. Thick, meaty, perfectly sweet. They remind me of the one I got at a cart called Dough at the Brooklyn Flea. I will be back my friends.
Took my first sick day this year due to an accidental caffeine overdose (this has happened before). So naturally I spent the day knitting and busting into the La Colombe Draft Latte that I ordered online and have been looking at longingly sitting in the fridge. It’s a smooth magical blend of coffee, milk, and delicately sweetened. Also, no after taste all those canned coffee drinks have. It was the only caffeine that day, I swear.
Working on a matching set of grey dishtowels and coasters my mom requested for Mother’s Day. This Sunday was the last soccer knitting weekend for a while, as the team won the championship.
Easy one row decrease pattern for a slouchy cap. Working on my 3rd one. Pattern coming soon…
