Soft Baby Blanket from Appalachian Baby

IMG_0682

I bought this kit from Appalachian Baby Design at Four Purls over a year ago and finally cast this on. I found that when I did the K4B, I was adding stitches and couldn’t figure out why. I started over and found this alternative technique to the K4B stitch which has worked out much better for me. I also added stitch markers in every 10 stitches to help me quickly keep track that my stitch count is correct. LOVE this yarn!

Summer Knitting Phase 1 Complete: Cotton Knit Dishtowels

Summer 2016 kicked off nicely with a re-read of The BFG (before seeing the movie), cat naps, and beach knitting the Purl Bee’s Soft Cotton Knit Dishtowels. I made 3 in coordinating colors using the Lily Sugar’n Cream yarn for a wedding gift to my brother.

Knit Collage Fun Kid’s Hat

Took a break from the very useful, yet very boring-to-knit cotton dishtowels and cranked out this adorable kid’s hat in like, an hour. It’s the Knit Collage Gypsy Garden yarn I got at the Four Purls yarn truck a few weeks back using Purl Bee’s Fun Kid’s Hat pattern. The only modification I made was knitting it on size 15 circular needles rather than the instructed size 17 dpns. It worked out fine, with a very small ball of yarn leftover. I still need to add a pom pom, still contemplating the color.
